Voodoo Rays and the Dance Tunnel, Dalston, London.

This well known American NYC style Pizza hang out and takeaway, Voodoo Rays, and the Dance Tunnel basement nightclub in Dalston is located near residents, and the local authority had the usual concerns over possible disturbance from noise late at night. The owners take the running of their licensed premises very responsibly, and were soon on the case.

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd has looked after all the noise issues at this venue for many years, and the new owners were soon in contact to resolve the situation.

We were commissioned to investigate and undertake noise surveys and full acoustic reports with comprehensive design recommendations for the extensive refurbishment. The basement Dance Tunnel club is fitted with a large Funktion One sound system, and working with the specialist supplier Sound Services, we made comprehensive sound tests to allow the system to operate at generous music sound levels without disturbing residents. Our detailed recommendations were soon to be implemented, including custom designed sound proofing being installed.

Follow up sound tests were successfully completed, and the sound limiter regularly calibrated, and Voodoo Rays and the Dance Tunnel has been very successful with international DJs to a capacity late night crowd in the heart of Dalston.
