Trabzon Airport is largest airport base in northern Turkey. Over 3 million passengers pass through the domestic terminal every year.

 

The old announcement system had poor sound quality, was not clear, and the Airport Management decided to find a better solution.

 

Our Electro-acoustic consultant Enis Murat Cakir was called in to investigate and commissioned to test the existing PA system and produce a feasibility report for the Airport Management in 2015.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustics Consultants Ltd were then appointed independently to advise on sound system design and assist with the tender documents. We gave professional technical advice with detailed recommendations to improve the sound quality and to enable the airport management to easily control the individual sound volume in each of the zones.

 

In June 2017 the new Public Address sound system was installed and commissioned, and our team were on site to assist. We independently tested the terminal, and our intelligibility sound test results fully verified the successful design improvement for the Airport Management. All announcements were clearly heard throughout the Airport Terminal. The Director of Operations was pleased a combined Turkish and English Acoustic Consultancy firm had completed such a successful project, and all in budget!
