This large and well known mosque in Kingsland Road, London, was opened in 1999, with a visit from Prince Charles. This mosque is very popular and they wanted to expand with a large accommodation extension, which needed a professional noise report to satisfy Local Authority requirements for Planning Permission.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustics were called in to advise following a personal recommendation, as we have a good working relationship with Hackney Council and often get Planning Permission granted in difficult situations. We have qualified RIBA Architects and Heritage planners working with us as part of the company, and we prepare all the necessary documents, particularly when there is a requirement for a noise report.

 

The planning application was granted, but only on condition a noise survey was undertaken. With our team on the job, this survey was soon finished, and we issued a full noise report. Following our successful negotiations with the Council Officers, and with our noise report, the planning condition was soon cleared, and official Planning Permission was granted. Work could then start on the building.

 

The Imam was pleased, and guests could now stay in the new accommodation built at the side of the mosque.
