Shoreditch Platform was used as a studio for fashion photography, (Studio Spaces), and the owner put on occasional party evenings for models and the fashion industry, with Temporary Event Notices.  There were loud sound systems, and concerns over noise. We conducted a noise survey, and issued a report with recommendations. These were successfully completed, we installed a sound limiter, calibrated it, and issued certificates.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd are also qualified Licensing Agents, and we were instructed by the owners to prepare all the documents for a full licence application for the new premises, and deal with all the paperwork and officials.

 

We established a good working relationship with the Police, Local Authority noise team, licensing officers, residents and government officials. Shoreditch Platform is located in the Shoreditch Special Policy Area and so it was not going to be easy to obtain a new premises licence, especially for later hours.

 

Shaun Murkett submitted the licence application, together with our noise reports, attended the licence hearing, and spoke on behalf of the owners. This was successful, and the new premises licence granted, with later hours to 2am at the weekends.
