This large cultural entertainment space in the heart of London’s fashionable East End is an eclectic mix of cinemas, theatres, studios, and live music venues in one large building. The space has been operating successfully for many years, however new residential developments have gradually been built closer to Rich Mix, and there were concerns by the local authority over noise and disturbance affecting residents.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd were called in to investigate and commissioned to undertake sound tests and to compile a comprehensive noise report with detailed recommendations to resolve the various noise issues. All the options and suggestions were discussed with the management team, and a schedule of works was recommended. Specialist contractors were brought in, and the building works to the various areas of the entertainment complex were completed in phases.

 

We were commissioned to undertake individual follow up sound tests and reports to clear any outstanding concerns of the local authority, and to confirm the success of the works, and to make recommendations for further improvements as the expanding operation of the space evolved. The sound limiter is calibrated regularly each year, this cultural space is operating safely, and is now world famous.
