This large music dance event takes place every few weeks in Southwark in a complex series of very large railway arches that are usually car parks during the daytime. There are large sound stages with live MCs and Djs and dance music, and large powerful Funktion One sound systems hired in, and a capacity of over 2000 people.

 

With the potential for noise disturbance to local residents a well organised team is needed to ensure noise levels are controlled effectively. The Local Authority always insist on the attendance at the event of an independent professional acoustic consultant.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd,  who are well known  to the Local Authority, were commissioned by the event organisers to provide a comprehensive Noise Management Service, to liaise with event  organisers, sound hire company, security and Police, and local authority noise teams.

 

Regular noise monitoring took place throughout the duration of the event, near the residents and at each front of house sound desk, and the event was successfully managed with no noise complaints, and compliance reports accepted by the local authority to enable further events to take place.
