This large Banqueting Suite caters for almost a thousand people for weddings and functions, with a large kitchen, dance floor, stage for live musicians, and large seating areas. It was originally the local Mercedez Benz dealership and the new car park was to be located on the roof of the building.

 

The new owners had proposed a complete refurbishment and change of use in the planning permission, and the local authority had many concerns about different noise issues, as the large building is very close to luxury apartments.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd, were commissioned to investigate and undertake a comprehensive noise survey and to issue an acoustic report with comprehensive design recommendations to reduce noise levels, especially from music and any ventilation noise.

 

Our recommended works were soon installed, and included a sound limiter which we calibrated, which made sure the music noise did not disturb the residents. The local authority were happy with our reports and certificates, and the new owner successfully started the business for weddings and functions.
