When people work in noisy situations there is a long term risk of noise induced hearing loss, and people who have worked for many years may find their hearing is gradually being damaged. Since the Noise at Work Regulations came into force employers have a duty to protect the hearing of their employees, and if a hearing test shows damage to the ears then a claim is usually made through specialist solicitors.

 

To assist the courts in dealing with these cases an acoustic engineer’s noise report is required to deal with all the technical aspects of each individual case.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd have completed many of these cases, and were recently commissioned jointly by JMP Solicitors and the solicitors for the other parties, to investigate and give professional technical comment and to compile Expert Witness Engineers reports on various cases involving the textile industry, engineering manufacturing and industries, and coalmining. These cases all required a Single Joint Expert report, and all reports were to a high professional standard, acceptable to the Crown Court.
