The little village of Herrang in Sweden is world famous for hosting a month long Lindy Hop Dance Camp for over 1500 people in the summer each year. Lindy hop and Balboa dancers from all corners of the world arrive eagerly anticipating a good festival and camp.

 

This involves using the local “Fokets Hus” and various marquees and other outdoor venues such as the “ Dance Barn “, to play music for dance lessons, competitions, and late night dances through to sunrise. There are local residents nearby, and there were concerns over music noise and possible disturbance.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd were called in and commissioned to investigate and undertake noise surveys and give professional technical advice with recommendations to allow events to continue with-out disturbing local residents.

 

Our recommendations were soon installed, follow up sound tests  made, and the results successful. The Dance Camp continues to operate safely and successfully through the night each summer season, and has now been running for over 25 years with thousands of happy Lindy Hop dancers and reassured local residents.
