The owners of this large Grade 1 Listed medieval manor house, known to date back to 1200 AD wanted some specialist advice on sound proofing and acoustic improvements, as part of a large refurbishment programme. This had to be considered very carefully as being Grade 1 listed any proposal had to conform to the strict regulations of the Planning departments and also the English Heritage organisation.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd, were called in and commissioned by the owner to investigate and undertake sound tests, liaise with the design team and planners, and to give specialist technical advice on acoustics with detailed design recommendations to meet all the requirements.

 

The improvements and recommendations were soon approved and carefully completed during the refurbishment with specialist contractors, and follow up sound tests confirmed the success of the works. The owners were pleased with the way the project was carefully and sensitively handled, and proud of the improvements, and the value of their beautiful manor house has now increased substantially.
