This large well established mosque in North London was to be completely refurbished, and a much better sound quality was required so that the Imam and prayer readings could be heard clearly throughout the mosque.

 

The total capacity is well over 1000 people, in various rooms and large prayer areas, on three floors, all with a large number of individual loudspeakers in various zones to allow flexible control from the Imams head office.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd were called in to investigate and commissioned to test the sound system and give professional technical advice with detailed recommendations to improve the sound quality and to enable the Imam to easily control the individual sound volume in each of the zones around the mosque.

 

This complete professional sound test was made with our experienced team and adjustments made on the sound system, with listening tests on the readings, also “STIPA” speech intelligibility tests.

 

Follow up sound tests were made, and confirmed our detailed acoustic design for the main rooms had achieved a much better good quality sound, and the readings were easily heard clearly throughout the mosque, all ready for the busy Ramadam time.
