With Covid restrictions in place in 2020, any bar that had licensed outside space, like a beer garden, had a clear business advantage over other music venues with just indoor space.

 

E1 London in Wapping had a derelict car park adjoining the club, and thought this could possibly be used as an outside space. They again brought in Shaun Murkett Acoustics, who had successfully worked with E1 owners Studio Spaces for over 12 years on all their noise and licensing issues.  We  had already successfully managed to achieve much later hours and increased capacity for E1 and their other popular nightclubs.  

 

Shaun Murkett prepared and submitted all the Licence Application documents, with detailed plans and proposals to use the outside space for music and regulated entertainment, along with comprehensive noise management reports to reassure the Local Authority and the local residents.

 

However there were still a few objections, and the case went to the Licensing Committee. Together with a leading licensing QC barrister we presented the case at Committee and the application was finally granted.

 

The E1 London club now has a fully licensed outside space for around 500 people, all ready to enjoy the summer sunshine, with music and dance. A very successful result for the business!
