The famous Driver Bar, with its distinctive green living wall, is part of a large group of successful clubs and bars, who have used our professional services in the past with many of their premises with successful results. Following discussion about a proposed licence application for later hours for this club, the local authority had concerns over the potential for noise and disturbance to nearby residents.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd were called in to advise, and commissioned to undertake full noise surveys from each of the three different floors, and to compile comprehensive noise reports with detailed recommendations to resolve the various noise issues. Our noise reports are always issued to the high professional industry standard that would support the clients’ case in Crown Court or Appeal if necessary, although in this case presented at the Licence Hearing Committee.

 

Our recommended acoustic design works were soon implemented, and follow up sound tests confirmed the success of all our technical advice and recommendations. With our sound limiter calibration certificates, and noise reports, all the relevant permissions were in place on the premises licence, and the Driver Bar could operate successfully to 4 am in the heart of lively Kings Cross.
