This new large Academy school in Chelsea has large playground areas at rooftop level, and the local authority had many concerns about different noise issues, as the large building is very close to residents as there are many luxury apartments and houses in this expensive part of London.

 

Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants Ltd, were commissioned to investigate and undertake comprehensive noise surveys and to issue acoustic reports with detailed design recommendations to reduce noise levels, especially from the large music room, and also from the roof top playground and sports areas.

 

The acoustic report was soon issued and our recommendations discussed with the management. Our recommended works were then successfully installed. The residents and the local authority were happy with the results and our reports, and the Chelsea Academy School was able to continue successfully with the students being able to use the roof top, and playing music in the music room and studio, all without complaints or concerns from the authorities.
