Most of us like an energising coffee in the morning and now New Zealand based firm Allpress have opened a large state of the art coffee roasting plant in Dalston, Hackney. As this is located near to residents then possible noise from the plant and machinery was a major concern and the local authority had put tight conditions on the planning permission to protect the residents from noise disturbance.

 

The management therefore called in local noise experts Shaun Murkett Acoustic Consultants to investigate, and to ensure that all the essential legislation regarding noise was met and all the noise criteria & guidelines from the local authority were passed. A full noise survey was undertaken with sound levels measured from the plant on the roof and then a full report with recommendations with a schedule of works was issued.

 

With all the noise works completed, & successfully tested, the coffee roasting plant is now operating quietly & has met all the legal criteria. The business is now able to grow safely and rapidly, and is providing some of the best locally roasted coffee from around the world to customers all over London.
